Gorgeous antique Victorian English aesthetic brown transferware vegetable bowl. Love aesthetic ware! So many patterns and scenes! Made by Gildea and Walker Potteries in Tunstall, Staffordshire, England around 1882. The makers mark is G&W Late Mayers Melbourne 1700 and also haa IVORY embossed on the bottom, as well as Gildea & Walker. The G is the Gildea is not really visible. The "Melbourne" pattern embrace Japanese and Asian influences. It features a patchwork of geometric designs, exotic birds like Kingfishers and Egrets, bamboo, and flowering quince in There are some other maker marks as well - see pics!
